Dear Friends of Child’s Path,

It is with great pleasure that I am reaching out to you to announce that Child’s Path has appointed a new Executive Director. After a rigorous four-month process conducted by the Executive Search Committee, I am excited to share that Heather Singleton has been named Child’s Path’s new Executive Director. Child’s Path gives underserved local children a path to a brighter future by providing access to high-quality early education through scholarship assistance to low-income, working families. Heather has dedicated her career to it with over 18 years of experience in the field. Heather is truly passionate about early childhood education and inspires everyone around her. Her dedication and experience make her a perfect fit to run Child’s Path. After our interviews, the Board was unanimous in our support for Heather. We are certain that Heather will help Child’s Path further improve the quality of our programs and grow the number of children we serve significantly.

Heather Singleton

Prior to this appointment, Heather served as the Director of Education of Child’s Path since 2019. In addition to her expertise in early education, she comes to this leadership role with 14 years of nonprofit management experience. Before joining the Child’s Path team, Heather was Director of Bright Beginnings Early School and served as Program Director and Acting Executive Director of Gladiolus Learning and Development Center. Heather has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Associates Degree in Accounting.  She is a certified CLASS Observer and has been a member of the Program Committee for the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida for several years. Additionally, she has served as a committee member on several local committees that focus on early childhood education.

Heather’s appointment comes as the organization implements a plan of strategic growth to double in size over the next five years. Due to the lack of affordable early childhood learning facilities, more than 4,000 economically needy children do not have access to any early education experience in Collier County. Early education helps to break the cycle of poverty by building the foundation for future academic success and a lifelong love of learning for at-risk children. With her knowledge and experience, Heather will successfully lead the expansion of Child’s Path to reach even more underserved children and families in Collier County.

On behalf of Child’s Path’s Board of Directors, I congratulate Heather Singleton on her appointment. We are looking forward to supporting her on this journey.

Please join me in welcoming Heather to her new role as Executive Director.

Sincerely,

Felix Mehler, Chairman, Board of Directors
