About Moorings

Moorings serves children ages one to five in a warm, family-oriented, developmentally appropriate learning center. The center is located within Emmanuel Lutheran Church located at 777 Mooring Line Drive (near Tamiami Trail and Golden Gate Pkwy). The center consists of four large classrooms and an outdoor play area, and it can accommodate up to 62 children. Moorings provides an experiential approach to learning, focusing on a child’s social, emotional and physical well-being. Our goal is to ensure a nurturing environment where children can flourish both academically and socially.

Our Moorings Center is open, and we are enrolling new students while still following all CDC guidelines. We are currently enrolling one-year-olds to VPK and accepting applications for scholarship assistance. Our free food service has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, and parents must pack meals and snacks for their children. Child’s Path has partnered with the Early Learning Coalition to provide FREE childcare for First Responders and Essential Health Care Workers through November.

Child’s Path has been successful in keeping children safe throughout the pandemic. We do so by following all CDC guidelines, keeping lower class ratios, daily health screenings, requiring masks for all staff and children 4 years and older, nightly disinfection with fogging machines, and more. Please download the graphic below to see some of the safety measures Child’s Path is taking.

Moorings Center Success & Outcomes

100% of the children improved their cognitive, social and emotional developmental milestones as measured by pre/post assessments. Last year, children entering kindergarten from the Moorings Center achieved a kindergarten readiness rate of 77%, which is 28 points above the Collier County average of 49% and 24 points above the Florida of 53%.

Qualified Teaching Staff

Our teachers offer themselves to the process of early education as co-facilitators of knowledge by opening doors to new possibilities. All of our employees are thoroughly screened and are required to hold Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials and all staff are trained in child CPR. We seek our the best and brightest early learning teachers in the area.

Educational Approach

Child’s Path’s educational approach is based on the highly regarded Reggio Emilia Philosophy. We create a fun, hands on experience to inspire children’s lifelong love of learning. Additionally, lesson plans are based on the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum. Creative Curriculum includes developmentally appropriate goals for children within four main categories: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language.
