NEW: Part-Time Care Program Available

In addition to our full-time early learning programs, Child’s Path is piloting a part-time care and learning program, exclusively at Child’s Path Santa Barbara, for parents of children ages three to five to provide them with well-rounded learning experiences while receiving positive, nurturing care.

This part-time program also allows for drop-in care.. Once you’ve submitted the annual registration paperwork, you can choose from 1, 2, or 3 days of afternoon care (1-5:30 p.m.), but you do not have to commit to a specific schedule. If you do lock in a schedule, you are assured that time slot for those days, on a weekly basis. However, there is plenty of flexibility for drop-ins.

For example, you may have a last-minute need for afternoon care on one day. You can call in the morning and your child can be in care the same afternoon, as long as there is availability. A flat-rate is charged for care from 1-5:30 pm. However, you can drop off and pick-up at any time within that window, which offers even more flexibility.

You may also, for example, have a need for three afternoons of care in one week, and not need care again for several months. We offer that flexibility, again, if there is a slot available.

Our part-time care program is our most flexible option and can accommodate a variety of needs.

About Child’s Path Santa Barbara

Our Santa Barbara Center, which operates year-round, is nationally accredited for providing high-quality early learning programs and exemplifying excellence in the care of children, as awarded by the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs. We strive to address the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of mostly at-risk and underserved children in our care, ages one to five. Prior to Covid-19, more than 50,000 healthy meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks) were served free to children annually, as part of our Healthy Meals/Minds Program. While the service was suspended during the pandemic, our free meal program resumed in July 2021.

Child’s Path Santa Barbara is enrolling new students and accepting scholarship applications for tuition assistance to help low-income local families.

Santa Barbara Center Success & Outcomes

100% of the children improved their cognitive, social and emotional developmental milestones as measured by pre/post scores.  Children entering kindergarten from the Santa Barbara Center achieved a kindergarten readiness rate of 75%, which is 32 points above the Collier County average of 43% and 24 points above the Florida average of 53%.

Qualified Teaching Staff

Birth to age 5 are some of the most important years of a child’s life to gain the skills and knowledge to build a foundation for future learning. Our teachers offer themselves to the process of learning as co-facilitators of knowledge by opening doors to new possibilities. All of our employees are thoroughly screened and are required to hold Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials and all staff are trained in child CPR.

Educational Approach

Child’s Path’s educational approach is based on the highly regarded Reggio Emilia Philosophy. We create a fun, hands on experience to inspire children’s lifelong love of learning. Additionally, lesson plans are based on the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum. Creative Curriculum includes developmentally appropriate goals for children within four main categories of interest: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language.
